The word Medicine may sound very simple though the word itself may sound dreaded for the patients. Nonetheless, what goes inside the department is far from being simple. There are three Medicine Consultants, namely Dr. Along CY (MBBS, DNB Medicine), Dr. Lendiwapang Jamir (MBBS, MD) and Dr Beto Y. Yeptho (MBBS, MD). Endoscopies (Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy and Nasal Endoscopy) are also done at this centre regularly by medical consultants. Minor procedures such as injection of bleeding ulcers or vessels, biopsies, dilatation, removal of foreign bodies are also done endoscopically.
Dr. Along has been actively training the support staff under him especially in endoscopy care so as to improve the general skills and to ensure that nobody is indispensible. It seeks to develop in the areas of Endoscopy including both Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Colonoscopy. The team also sees all the usual cases otherwise seen by other physicians.
The department also focuses on Echo Basic Cardiac Care Diagnostics (Echocardiography) with Holter Monitoring that records heartbeats for 24 hours.
